This compilation of short stories was a fairly early publication of the great American author, coming out prior to his masterworks; TOM SAWYER, LIFE ON THE MISSISSIPPI, CONNECTICUT YANKEE, HUCK FINN, et al. It was shorter works such as these gathered here, along with extensive speaking tours, that won for Twain the fame and fortune which made his later publications possible. This work includes THE JUMPING FROG, Twain's biggest success to the date, as well as more then sixty other stories and essays, many never before published. BAL 3364. |
