LIMITED EDITION OF ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS BOOKS OF THE 20TH CENTURY. Illustrator John Groth had no easy task in illustrating this title. The images of the MGM motion picture are arguably the most famous in Hollywood history. In virtually everyone's mind, Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable have become inseparable from Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler. Groth has chosen, wisely, to provide illustrations that complement, but don't conflict with the Technicolor masterpiece.
The introduction is by one of the era's most respected Civil War historians, Commager was the author of the famous THE BLUE AND THE GRAY as well as many other important historical works. Also included with this copy is the LEC's prospectus and monthly newsletter for December, 1967 |
