POEMS, From the Works of Charles Cotton, Newly Decorated by Claud Lovat Fraser

(New York: Henry Holt & Company, 1925).

Claud Lovat Fraser carefully selected this group of poems from Cotton s body of work to illustrate, having been a long-time fan. His seventy-five drawings were done slowly and deliberately, and with the greatest enjoyment. They represent him at his best as a book-decorator and as an artist. Cotton is known not only for contributions to 17th century verse, but also for his co-authoring with Isaac Walton of what is perhaps the most famous fishing book of all time, THE COMPLEAT ANGLER. A harmonious combination of text and illustration. Item #16101
