Alexander Webb was a Major General during the American Civil War, he is best remembered for having defended the famous "Copse of Trees" during Pickett's charge at the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863. After Gettysburg, Webb received command of his division and led it through the fall campaigns. He played a prominent role in the Battle of Bristoe Station. Item #22222

First Edition thus. Illustrated with 8 maps. 12mo, publisher s original printed paper wrappers of blue and gray lettered in white. 219 pp. A very fine, unused and as mint copy, internally as pristine, the wrapper with a very minor bit of rubbing, probably from original storage or shipment.
