VERY RARE FIRST EDITION SURVIVAL. The first and only edition of the fanciful work produced by Verlag Internatiol. According to the printed advertisement for the book, of which two copies are included here, the work was produced using a 15 colour offset process. The ad also mentions a gift box, but there are no records to indicate one was ever produced.
Carl Ernst Hinkefuss was a popular Bauhaus illustrator known for modernist ad work. He did a great deal of work with the Hamburg Amerika Line. Hinkefuss was editor of the design periodical Qualität. Item #23531

A BAUHAUS RARITY. First and only edition, limited to 1500 copies. Printed on black paper in silver, gold and numerous colours with text and large colourful block-prints of abstracted stylized birds. Folio, self-wrappered in decorated black paper punched and bound with black thread. 28 pages plus wrappers. A very fine and well preserved copy with only a very minor bit of rubbing along the edge of the black paper.
