With 8 full page colour plates, illustrated title-page by Jessie Willcox Smith. 4to, publisher s original red cloth over white boards, lettered in brown on the spine and with a colour pictorial paste-down illustration of two children playing by Jessie Willcox Smith on the upper cover. A handsome copy of this scarce title, with some age mellowing to the binding and a bit of scuffing to the tips and edges. Internally, the pages are in good order, a bit toned on the margins as is typical, yet the illustrations are clean and the binding is tight.
