(London: John Baddeley, 1834).

FIRST EDITION OF THIS SCARCE TREATISE ON LONDON ANGLING BY THE FOUNDER OF THE 'TRUE WALTONIAN SOCIETY'. The author, a keen and enthusiastic amateur fisherman, lovingly explores all the rivers and streams of the area. He not only describes the various species of fish worth fishing for, and even provides us with a little song about each of them. A section of the book is devoted to what the author calls "the best part of the sport"--- fly fishing. A classic English sporting book that gives far more than a tip-of-the-hat to Isaac Walton's 17th century masterpiece. Item #29697
