(London: A. & C. Black, LTD, 1918).

A HANDSOME, ATTRACTIVE COPY OF A CORE EARLY 20TH CENTURY TRAVEL BOOK IN ITS BEST EDITION. A. & C. Black's native ENGLAND is the subject of this installment in their fine travel series of colourplate books. The paintings included are quite diverse in nature, and are from a number of artists. Included are Walter Tyndale, George Elgood, and Charles Whymper. Like all of Black's titles this book on England combines finely reproduced paintings with the richest travel writing available to them. The earlier incarnation of Fox's text had only 32 plates, this is by far the better of the two editions. Item #30159

The Best Edition, being the first edition with the full complement of sixty-four colour plates. The previous edition had only thirty-two. With 64 beautifully reproduced colourplates with captioned tissue-guards from paintings by a variety of fine artists.
