POETICAL WORKS OF LORD BYRON.

(London: Henry Frowde, 1912).

BRYON’S COMPLETE POETICAL WORKS handsomely presented in an elegant period binding, beautifully preserved inside and out. This is a very fine production of Byron’s great Romantic poetry printed in double column with in fine ruled margins. John Murray had a particular interest in Byron and is largely responsible for publishing and promoting the author, as this fine one volume collection attests. If not for Murray’s efforts, it may have taken Byron works years, if ever, to reach the same height of popularity and fame. Item #30615

With a portrait frontispiece in photogravure. Thick, 8vo, very handsomely bound in contemporary tan tree calf, elaborately tooled and decorated in gilt, the spine in six compartments separated by raised bands, very elaborate full gilt tooled panels within the compartments, gilt lettered on a red morocco label in one compartment, covers with fine gilt roll-tooling at the borders, gilt rolled turnovers, marbled endleaves, all edges gilt. A very fine binding. x, 924 pp. A very fine copy, very handsome, clean and solid, the paper very fresh, the very attractive and beautifully decorated binding near as pristine and very fine indeed.
