A copy with nice Bostonian provenance given to Anna Parker Lowell by her Grandfather, John Parker. With engraved frontispiece, illustrated title-page and six engraved plates, all by Zwecker. 8vo, in the publisher's original purple cloth, the upper cover with ornate lettering within a fanciful round gilt framework, the spine gilt lettered and finely gilt decorated, a.e.g. vii, 464, [8 ads] pp. An attractive copy, the text is clean and free of any spotting, a bit of mild and uniform toning, the cloth is bright with nice gilt and little fading, there is some expected rubbing to the edges and the cloth along the top of the hinges is a bit worn, some separation at the join of the free-flies and pastedowns, still a sturdy and strong copy.
