CUSHIONS AND CORNERS are what grand-mamma calls sisters Mary and Florry; who (along with brother Willy) spend their holidays at Old Orchard. The author describes Old Orchard as a children's paradise with flowers and wilderness, young hare and wood-pigeon and nests of wild bees rich with summer honey. Item #32597

The First American edition and the First Dutton edition as well. With an attractive engraved frontispiece illustration and with headpieces and initials throughout. Small 8vo, in the publisher's original brick cloth, the upper cover with a grand and vivid gilt decorated vignette within a blind-stamped framework, the spine attractively gilt lettered and with gilt ruling at the tips. 214, [7, catalogue] pp. A very bright and clean copy in especially well preserved condition for a children's book of this era, the text is fresh and free of any spots or toning, the cloth is attractive with vivid gilt.
