Burke grew up on the Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast, and spent a great deal of time in Montana, so his ability to capture these regions and their colourful local characters is unrivaled.
BLACK CHERRY BLUES won the author the first of his two Edgar Awards. Though his resume is extensive it is his books featuring Dave Robicheaux for which he is best known, and for which he was awarded the Grand Master Award from the Mystery Writers of America. A complex character with a closet full of demons, Robicheaux s a former homicide detective in the New Orleans Police Department who now works as a detective for the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office.
