CHRONICLES OF CANONGATE is a collection of stories within the series of the Waverley novels by Sir Walter Scott. A highly praised work at the time of publication.
Published in 1827 and 1828 in the Waverley novels series, they are named after the Canongate, in Edinburgh.

First Edition. 8vo, bound in contemporary three-quarter calf over marbled paper covered boards, the spine panels handsomely tooled in gilt pattern, lettered in gilt within the design. xxviii, 351; 374 pp. A very well preserved and handsome set with only minor evidence of age. The text-blocks and bindings all in good order.
