The engraved illustrations in this American edition, are fine renderings in the art of wood-engraving and surpass all others in previous American editions. Item #9956

Early American edition. With engraved portrait frontispiece of Bunyan and embellished throughout with 67 other engraved plates. Large 8vo, publisher’s original black morocco, the covers elaborately blocked in blind and with central ornamental figures in gilt, the spine with raised bands and gilt lettering, a.e.g. xx, 454. Some light rubbing to the morocco, upper cover now detached and in need of simple restoration, clean, crisp and bright internally, the text block in very good order.
